April 12, 2014 – I found this race last year and with just an $18 fee, it was well worth the experience.  It takes place at the site of the Lincoln Marathon turn around at Holms Lake and 20 mile mark.  Holms Lake is a place where I have flamed out often in the 3 Lincoln Marathons I have run.  It’s always nice to run here when it’s just a 10K.  This year was no exception.

The race is quiet, about 300 in attendance and the course is well laid out and marked.  It’s always a great tune up for Lincoln.  This year I ran the Fish Fry 5K the night before, so the legs were not so fresh.  With a 53:30, it was a good day.  Still working on the speed and dropping some weight.

It was great to see Ivan Marsh hanging out in the crowd!
